Influential jazz saxophonist Pete Burden passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of 27 December 2016 at the age of 75. Christopher Hoggins, who knew Pete well and once painted his portrait, recalls a life well-lived by a highly talented and generous musician.

Following their one-off theatrical re-staging of Ken Loach’s seminal work, ‘Cathy Come Home’ at London’s Barbican Centre, the award-winning theatre company, Cardboard Citizens, are now touring ‘Cathy’ nationally – and will be appearing at the White Rock Theatre, Hastings, on 25 and 26 January 2017. The play is a reworking, based around similar themes to Loach’s original work. Laurie Temple writes.

Trash Cannes and Trash’d New Wave Festival present at the Electric Palace Cinema this coming Saturday (21 January) two documentary films that take a look at non-binary gender identity. HOT’s Zelly Restorick invited Keith Rodway, documentary maker, anthropologist and creative instigator of Trash Cannes, to say something about the two films being shown.
