HBC welcomes tender for new rail franchise

Enjoying the challenges in Papua New Guinea

Debating dams in the rain forest

After a five-day journey by plane, boat, bus and boat, HOT reporter Nick Terdre has finally reached ‘Mission Village’ in the Amazon rain forest, where members of the Munduruku tribe are meeting to discuss the government’s plan to build hydroelectric plants on their land.

Brede ‘Giants’

On Saturday (earlier this month) a brief window of bright sunny weather opened in the morning, so we jumped through it and headed out to Brede – the restored steam engines at the old Waterworks only operate on the first Saturday of each month and on bank holidays.
