Un-Broken

Un-Broken, an exhibition by local female artists at Murmurations Gallery, explores themes that complement Tonico Lemus Auad’s exhibition at the De Le Warr Pavilion. Erica Smith, who was not overwhelmed by the show at DLWP, went along with low expectations – and was pleasantly surprised.

Petition to bar further public funding for NBAR

Concerned at the propensity of road-building projects to bust their budgets, environmental campaigners Combe Haven Defenders have launched a petition against the allocation of any further public funds for the construction of Sea Change Sussex’s North Bexhill Access Road. Nick Terdre reports.

Beatles Day – 17 years at number one!

Last Sunday was not just another day – it was Beatles Day at the White Rock Theatre, where the crowds came streaming, the musicians, (whether in the first flush of youth or the creaking stages of old age), enjoyed their 15 minutes on stage and the takings for Macmillan Cancer Support kept mounting. Even getting soaked on the way home wasn’t enough to dampen Nick Terdre’s enthusiasm.

Strummerville-On-Sea

Nature: a season of films

A new website and freephone number for anyone affected by domestic or sexual abuse has been launched. A partnership of three leading Sussex abuse charities with over 60 years’ track record, The Portal service will make it simpler to find the right help. The website offers a choice of options, including advice for friends and family and a referral pathway for professionals. Naomi Bos writes.
