We managed to get to a couple of concerts at the Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival last week. The what? I hear you ask. Peasmarsh is a tiny village to the northwest of Rye, with a diminutive church. Violinist Anthony Marwood and cellist Richard Lester have organised this event for a decade: it involves a series of concerts over four days in Peasmarsh Church, writes Antony Mair.
We went down to the Odeon on Friday night. I must have had the seat with the stickiest patch of carpet in the entire cinema – at the end of the film my feet were superglued to the floor… another Battleaxe Blog.
On another very cold night at the Pilot Field, there was no forecast of snow, but the 247 spectators would be able to tell you otherwise. Following the pitch inspection at 3pm, the game was given the go ahead against Cray Wanderers.
