The Pledge Project

The Pledge Project is a simple idea – to get as many people as possible in Hastings, St Leonards & surrounding areas to sign a one sentence pledge saying how they will, in some way, reduce their impact upon the environment.

The Big Sleep for Seaview 2019

The Seaview Project’s annual sponsored sleep takes place on Friday 27 September, raising awareness and vital funds for some of the town’s most vulnerable people and there are still some boxes left for more sleepers to take part. Sue Burgess writes.  

Hastings Greenway Group

The Hastings Greenway Project is an innovative network of linked almost traffic-free routes, that everyone can enjoy for leisure, amenity and utility walking, as well as cycling. Starting at Hastings Town Centre the Greenway will run 10 miles to Ore, Silverhill, Hollington & Mayfield and the Conquest Hospital. Here’re some up-coming events where the group will have a presence:

Hastings to celebrate its first-ever Car Free Day

Seafront road closure planned for community street party, marking the start of Sustainability on Sea 2019! A stretch of Hastings seafront from Warrior Square gardens to the pier will be closed to traffic on Sunday 22 September to mark World Car Free Day.

Sustainability on Sea: over 60 events, gatherings and workshops!

This is the second Sustainability on Sea (SOS), a nine day festival – and this year it has grown and evolved, including many more events from Winchelsea to Bexhill, all connected by care and concern for our environment, sustainable living and regenerative culture. Firstly, we’ve listed some of the practical workshops and events – and then some of the creative ones.

It’s Laughing Stag comedy night at the Stag Inn this Friday with entertainment from four leading comics and a collection of foodstuffs in aid of Hastings Food Bank, as the organisers explain.
