SOS 2019

Sustainability on Sea: over 60 events, gatherings and workshops!

This is the second Sustainability on Sea (SOS), a nine day festival – and this year it has grown and evolved, including many more events from Winchelsea to Bexhill, all connected by care and concern for our environment, sustainable living and regenerative culture. Firstly, we’ve listed some of the practical workshops and events – and then some of the creative ones.

please check out the Sustainability on Sea website.

Sustainability On Sea is a community festival: organised by the community for the community. In total, 160 volunteers have helped to make it happen.

SOS focuses on sustainable initiatives across Hastings and St Leonards. The aim is to promote a sustainable future and support and promote those who are playing their role towards this goal.

The theme for this year’s festival is What We Can Do highlighting the opportunities for action in our community.

SOS falls during the week of the UN Global Climate Action Summit on 23 September. The aim of the summit is ‘boost ambition and accelerate actions to implement the Paris Agreement on Climate Change’.

Change from the top down and the bottom up: local people looking at what we can do about climate change, while global leaders discuss the issues on the transnational scale.
