Fun and funds aplenty at Beatles Day

Palestine play commemorates siege at Bethlehem

The Siege comes to St Mary-in-the-Castle as part of the Jenin Freedom Theatre UK Tour after being invited here by the Hastings Palestine Solidarity Campaign. It is directed by Nabil Al-Raee and Zoe Lafferty. John Knowles previews the play.

Spirit of the Land

Spirit of the Land is described as “a personal journey to rediscover the intimate paths between us and the land”. This is achieved through a series of three outdoor Saturday workshops along the coastal path near Hastings. HOT reporters Cathy Simpson and Erica Smith put on their walking boots, braved the wind and rain, and explored the great outdoors and their inner landscapes.

The official list of candidates standing for the post of MP for Hastings and Rye was published last week, showing five contestants instead of the expected six. The missing person is David Lofts of the Respect Party, who has decided to stand down. Nick Terdre reports.

It’s Beatles Day, one of the musical highlights of the year in Hastings, this Sunday at the White Rock Theatre. At this musical extravaganza which lasts from midday until 10.30pm, you can catch 93 different acts featuring more than 500 musicians. Nick Terdre can’t wait.
