Greenway walking season kicks off!

Hastings Greenway Group is summoning supporters to join in this year’s first walk for the greenway. They welcome the fact that the project enjoys support from most of the parties in the upcoming local elections, but have found it hard to clarify whether they qualify for a grant from a walking and cycling fund which could help bring the dream closer to reality. Nick Terdre reports. Photos by Tony Polain.

HOT reporters Cathy Simpson and Erica Smith put on their walking boots, braved the wind and rain, and explored the great outdoors and their inner landscapes.

One of the enchanted creatures at Mallydams Wood

Magical Mallydams

Apart from dropping off injured birds of various varieties, I’ve not been to the RSPCA Mallydams Centre at Fairlight to explore the acres of land they have there.  The summer Open Wood Day gave me the opportunity – and I’m glad I went along, writes HOT’s Zelly Restorick.
