Online event will throw light on Napier Barracks scandal

Following the mass outbreak of Covid-19 at Napier Barracks in Folkestone, where several hundred asylum-seekers are being kept in inhumane conditions, Hastings Community of Sanctuary has arranged an online event next Monday to provide first-hand accounts of what is happening there. £110m at stake as Town Deal plan goes in

The Town Investment Plan – Hastings’ Town Deal bid – could bring more than £110m into the town to fund a range of projects. If the Town Deal board’s vision becomes reality, Hastings will become the South East’s first green city, with new housing, commercial and leisure facilities, new jobs and two regional ‘green skills’ bases. Hastings Musical Festival has extended deadlines for its Virtual Festival 2021

The Hastings Musical Festival (HMF) has already had almost 600 entries for its Virtual Festival. Teachers in all sections said they had hoped to use the January school term to complete teaching and recording of performances for uploading, but this is no longer possible given the new lockdown, writes Chris Cormack.
