Community interest groups ignored as HBC seeks go-ahead to gate three passage-ways

Hastings Borough Council’s proposal to gate three public passage-ways which are the scene of anti-social and criminal behaviour are being questioned on behalf of community interest groups whose views were never consulted. Nick Terdre reports.

Designers on the Edge…

‘EDGE – We Made It’ is an exhibition of contemporary craft by second year students on the Designer Maker BA course at East Sussex College, Hastings. The exhibition runs from 1–8 March and in the absence of a real-world opportunity to exhibit, the student designers have created an online exhibition. Erica Smith spoke to Linda King – one of the 11 students participating in the online show.

Home Office not planning Napier Barracks replica in Hastings, says HBC

Hastings Borough Council is not aware of any Home Office plans for an accommodation centre for asylum-seekers in the town, the Refugee Buddy Project was relieved to hear when it recently met council representatives. Nick Terdre reports.

Make a diary date for Census 2021
