Local fishery launches new round of projects

This week the Fisheries Local Action Group (FLAG) phase 2 project, backed by EU funding of £800,000, was launched at the Jerwood Gallery. Hastings Borough Council’s communications staff report.

Greenway group calls open evening

Hastings Greenway Group is holding an open evening on Thursday 2 February with the aim of moving their campaign for a safe walking and cycling network into a higher gear. Trash’d brings Thomas Truax to town TONIGHT!

Musician and soundsmith, Thomas Truax, he of the songs that are stories and self-created instruments will be appearing as part of the Trash Cannes Festival at a venue that is as unique as he is, Kino Teatr in St Leonards-on-Sea. HOT’s Zelly Restorick asks Truax some questions and discovers how his creative ingenuity and stubborn determination have helped forged his musical pathway.

Council adds to commercial property portfolio

As part of its income generation programme, Hastings Borough Council has added to its commercial property portfolio a newly built factory unit for food manufacturer BD Foods. Nick Terdre reports.

Greens join local protest against Trump

The inauguration of Donald Trump as US president last Friday sparked unprecedented acts of repudiation across the world. Thousands took part in the ‘Bridges Not Walls’ movement, which started in town and was supported by the Hastings and Rye Green Party. Nick Terdre reports.
