Graze Drink Gaze

Realistically, does St Leonards and Hastings need another coffee shop? No is probably the answer. But then what happens if someone breaks the mould and ups the ante? Well then the answer is ‘yes’. HOT’s Lauris Morgan-Griffiths went along to investigate a new place taking shape on the front at St Leonards.

Saturday offers Oudolin at Bookbusters at 5.30, The Aftershave at Whistle Trago at 6, and at 7.30, Bosco Rogers will be French-kissing in the UK down The Dragon Bar – plus – am I dreaming or are The Fall really playing St Mary in the Castle? HOT’s Erica Smith gets tempted by a musical binge.

Storm damage delays pier re-opening to 2016

Hastings Pier Charity has postponed the re-opening of the pier to March 2016, but promises that there will be opportunities to go onto it before then. Meanwhile the first shareholders’ meeting takes place on Saturday. Nick Terdre reports.

Here today, gone tomorrow!

Mercury Prize nominated Seth Lakeman, who has successfully helped to steer English folk into the musical mainstream with his high-energy performances, comes to St Mary in the Castle, Hastings on Saturday 9 May with The Full English, writes Bob Perry.
