For Jazz Hastings’ next session on Tuesday 6 June, UK pianist and organist Ross Stanley has put together an all-star band to present Time is of the Essence, a tribute to the great American saxophonist Michael Brecker, one of the most influential sax players since John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter. Julian Norridge sings the praises of Paul Booth – the saxophonist taking the lead role and the other musicians in this unique line-up.
Moram Ali is having an exhibition of his stunning, spectacularly colourful and eye-catching paintings at the Hastings Arts’ Forum from 30 May til 11 June, with an open evening on Friday 2 June from 6 til 8pm. Blacklands Church in Hastings hosted an afternoon of classical guitar music recalling the Spanish master Andrés Segovia by Kianush Robeson last Sunday, 21 May. Stewart Rayment was there to savour a special occasion, and also took the photos.
