We can’t complain we haven’t had a summer this year. And summer is colour – the sea, summer fruits, summer dresses. And it is uplifting to see colour radiating from the Hastings Arts Forum walls. David Reeve’s excellent show, Urban Landscapes, celebrates his work past and present. HOT’s Lauris Morgan-Griffiths was energised by his images which were a departure from earlier work vibrated in the HAF space.
Those who enjoy the music of Polo Piatti, and appreciate the many contributions he has made to Hastings’ musical life, can enjoy a whole concert of his works, performed by the composer and friends, at the Opus Theatre on Saturday 20 August. Nick Terdre reports.

While exploring Beauport Park woods, Chris Bell, a retired architect and Zoom Arts member living in St Leonards, discovered a monument, now sadly neglected among a cluster of holiday chalets, built by a previous owner of the woods in the 19th century in honour of his departed wife.
