Pro and anti cyclists come face-to-face in Alexandra Park

The proposal to give active travel in Hastings a boost by routing a cycleway through Alexandra Park has not been to everyone’s taste. As both sides held rallies at the weekend, HOTs Chris Connelley headed into the park to hear their points of view on the controversy. He also took the photos.

Waves of thought

HOT’s Zelly Restorick was sitting on the beach at Fairlight, watching the waves rolling in and out – and had the thought that each wave is a totally unique wave. We call them ‘waves’, as a collective generalisation. However, no two waves are the same, nor have they ever been – the exact same composition, movement and timing – in the history of the planet and the sea.

SoCo artists pass the baton in Relay Respond Relay

It has variously been referred to as Chinese Whispers, a Conversation and now a Relay; the art of  taking a piece of art, sending it to another and them responding to it in their own inimitable way. It is a great way of opening a debate, stretching the artist and creating a body of work. HOT’s Lauris Morgan-Griffiths was excited to see SoCo Artists’ latest iteration, Relay Respond Relay, as they pass the baton from one to another.
