The Hastings Herring Fair is set to return for an eighth year this November 23-24 on the Stade open space. Sea Space has decided to sell the Ore Valley site to Gemselect, which is looking at a possible development of 66-75 dwellings. The decision means an end to Heart of Hastings’ dream of a community-based development. Nick Terdre reports.
On Saturday 9 November Hastings Against War (HAW) held its annual remembrance for all victims of war at the war memorial in Alexandra Park. Local people, including council leader Peter Chowney, gathered to remember the victims, military and civilian alike, before a wreath of white poppies was laid at the memorial. HAW’s John Enefer reports.
The fundraiser is on behalf of little local resident, Violet, who has a rare genetic condition. The last fundraising event – a sponsored head shave – raised over £1000 and the family and friends would really like the next one – a sponsored beard shave, taking place on 23 November 23 – to do the same.
