From 15 May 2019, couples where one person is over State Pension age while the other is under that age won’t be able to claim Pension Credit or pension-age Housing Benefit. Instead, both people will need to reach State Pension age before they can claim Pension Credit or Housing Benefit. Battle Light Opera presents Mel Brooks’ The Producers

Battle Light Opera Group open a four-day run of their new production, Mel Brooks’ The Producers, on Wednesday 8 May. Last year’s production won the company a prestigious award. Nick Terdre reports.

Hastings choir makes donation to local youth charity

The Sound Waves Community Choir recently made a generous donation of £1,700 to local charity XTRAX at their annual general meeting. The gift will help support the charity’s efforts to assist the most vulnerable of young people in the Hastings and Rother area. HOT’s Jordan Dixon writes.
