It’s all systems go for Christmas charities

Christmas is a busy time for charities working with homeless people and families short of the resources to provide for themselves at the toughest time of the year. This is especially true for those charities with a Christmas focus, such as Surviving Christmas, which will be providing its usual seasonal hospitality. Another event has been arranged at the YMCA. Nick Terdre (himself a Surviving Christmas volunteer) reports. Photos by Surviving Christmas.

Charities step up to provide Christmas cheer

Again this year it is charities which will step into the gap to provide some Christmas cheer for families and individuals deprived of the resources to do it for themselves. Nick Terdre reports.

No need to be alone this Christmas

Earlier today I bumped into big-hearted Kevin of the Community, writes HOT’s Zelly Restorick – a man who always seems to be doing something for someone somewhere – and he told me about what’s happening in the town this Christmas ‘so that no-one needs to be alone if they don’t want to be’.
