Visitor centre behind schedule and over budget

Construction of the new visitor centre in Hastings Country Park is not going well. The project is running well behind schedule and costs have risen substantially. In fact, after looking closely at the relevant regulations as well as the council’s own recent references to the matter, Bernard McGinley concludes that planning permission has lapsed. Mark Thomas and friends support HFS

Stand-up comedian, political activist and journalist, Mark Thomas is the patron of local furniture charity, Hastings and Other Furniture Service (HFS). On 25 May, he’ll be appearing at The De La War Pavilion alongside a number of fellow comedians – Daniel Kitson, Bridget Christie, Robin Ince, Shazia Mirza, Jonny & the Baptists and Tiernan Douieb – in a comedy benefit gig.
