Twenty rare trees have been planted in Alexandra Park in Hastings to ensure that the park continues to hold the most diverse and interesting tree collection of any public park in England.

Renaissance Theatre Company has been performing as a group since 2009 when they came together in memory of two very special friends, Sandra Woodhams and Sharon Guy Waller, who sadly passed away that year. Since then they have performed two concerts at The Phoenix Venue and a further three musicals. Their aim is to continue with a production every year and to support the chosen charities, St Michael’s Hospice, in memory of Sandra, and the Shazzie Sparkle Trust, in memory of Sharon. So the first three days showed us how good their memory and technique was, but now the remaining 18 contestants had to show us that they could make a line sing, and produce exquisite airy runs one after another.
