Jeremy Birch: a hard act to follow

Tributes to Jeremy Birch, the former Hastings Borough Council leader who died as a result of a severe stroke last week, continue to flow in. He would, said one, be a hard act to follow. A memorial service and event are being planned and a donations page has been opened. Nick Terdre reports.

There was an article in the Hastings Observer about a place called Gizmo in St Leonards possibly closing down due to lack of funding. I didn’t know too much about it, writes Philip Oakley of Philip Oakley Illuminations, but went round to see Pat Fisher yesterday. She started ‘Gizmo’ 12 years ago.
