Positive response to Gladedale’s revised scheme for the Archery Ground

Gladedale’s new planning application for the Archery Ground in St Leonards has been well and truly launched, with an exhibition of the revised scheme and a pre-application forum held in mid March. Nick Terdre reports.

Passion for Bach in St Leonards

A fine concert for the Easter season takes place on Saturday 6 April when the Hastings Philharmonic Choir will sing, in English, the magnificent St John Passion, writes HOT’s Chris Cormack, who is also a member of the choir. This sacred oratorio, a dramatic depiction of the events of Holy Week, was written by JS Bach in 1742.

The Nuns are an all-lady band paying tribute to The Monks. The drummer, Bongo Debbie, lives in St Leonards and has lured her bandmates down to play at The Royal Standard on Easter Saturday evening. Ian Greensmith tried to find out more and got the habit…

Jo Brand joins opposition to Bexhill Hastings Link Road

BAFTA winning comedian Jo Brand, due to appear at a benefit gig this weekend in support of Hastings pier, has clearly stated her objections to the Bexhill Hastings Link Road and her support for all those who oppose its development, writes HOT’s Zelly Restorick.
