HOT has a Facebook Fans group. But HOT Fan Club is something else again.
Pam McNaughton explains
Back in 2007, some women in the Old Town wanted to join the Winkle Club and do some charity fundraising. But we knew it was a men only club, so we thought we would start a women’s only club, the Hastings Old Town Fans.
In our first year we had 80 members and raised £1600. In 2008 the figure rose to £1700, and last year, although we had fewer members, we raised around £2500. All the money goes to local charities, including the Sara Lee Trust and the Women’s Refuge.
The gig on 6 Feb with the Cajun Dawgs raised £250, a good start to 2010.
New women members are welcome: it’s £5 a year but if you join now your £5 will run for a year from April. You can join at Penbuckles, 50 High Street.
