Local charity offers volunteers the chance to make a difference!
The Lottery Awards for All project recently awarded funding to local charity FSN (Fellowship of St Nicholas) to help launch a new volunteer-led project from their central St. Leonards and Hollington Health Hubs. FSN issued this request for volunteers to join their cause.
The Health Hubs are funded by Hastings and Rother CCG. The funding is designed to promote community resilience by increasing the capacity of local organisations to provide initiatives to engage the public.
The FSN Hubs run activities that support the 5 Ways to Wellbeing (Connect, Be Active, Keep Learning, Give to Others, Take Notice), making a difference by promoting healthier lifestyles and offering volunteering opportunities.
As part of the new funding, FSN are looking for people that want to join the Hubs as a volunteer to lead small volunteer led groups. They can provide a venue space and possibly some resources.
Examples of volunteer-led groups to date include a drum circle, watercolour painting and creative art sessions. It’s an opportunity to volunteer whilst sharing your skills to support others. FSN values the contribution that volunteers make. All their volunteers have access to training, social opportunities and full support from FSN staff.
To offer your support, contact Michelle Hooper at mhooper@fsncharity.co.uk for Central St. Leonards or Graham Hodgson at ghodgson@fsncharity.co.uk for Hollington.
