Education Futures Trust free courses
Hastings based support charity, Education Futures Trust, is offering a number of FREE weekly workshops for local people requiring assistance with parenting and general wellbeing. Reducing Challenging Behaviour offers positive strategies for parents and carers of children with autism. Starting Friday 22 September at Sacred Heart School on Old London Road, the course offers advice on how to understand and defuse challenging situations.
Triple P discussion groups address parenting issues such as how to develop a good bedtime routine and manage fighting and aggression. Open to all, the morning sessions begin Wednesday 20 September at St Leonards CofE Primary Academy and different issues will be discussed each week over tea and coffee.
Without Walls is a 10 week programme outdoor survival course designed to help people gain confidence and improve practical and communications skills. NHS Hastings & Rother Clinical Commissioning Group are kindly funding three courses this year, with the first available this autumn; it runs Mondays from 2 October and offers participants the chance to gain an award in conservation and prepare for a volunteer or work placement. This course is based in Silverhill and open to local adults in receipt of ESA/JSA/Universal Credit.
A Walk in the Park begins on Friday 22 September and aims to improve mental & physical health by investing time in nature. Set in Alexandra Park, the course is open to anyone age 19+ looking to join relaxed, informal walks with others to appreciate the benefits of green spaces.
