St Leonards Festival head-piece at Hastings Arts Forum

Local stained glass artist Alan Wright has recently installed this beautiful Marine Court head-piece in the window of Hastings Arts Forum on Marina in St Leonards. The carnival mask/head-piece was made for St Leonards Festival carnival parade in 2007 – for the first carnival parade which was in the second year of St Leonards Festival. Below, Alan tells us more about the head-piece.

Hastings community creates food safety net for residents in need

Hastings Voluntary Action recently released the following press release applauding the efforts of a number of local community groups, who have united in order to feed those in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

Testing facilities improve but testing statistics still confuse

Life for key workers living locally who need testing for coronavirus has been made easier by the opening of a drive-through testing centre in Bexhill. Meanwhile the government is to provide funding to local authorities as it prepares to move into test-and-trace operations. However, the true testing capacity appears to a lot less than the government claims. Nick Terdre reports.
