Jazz Brunches on Hastings Pier

As part of Summer Marquee, Hastings Pier are holding four Jazz Brunches across four Tuesdays in August. On Tuesday 8 August, music will be provided by Bluesette Helen Sharpe and Jonas Larsson. Jonas has been in many bands in his native Sweden and more recently Hastings, where he currently resides.

Call for young men to test for chlamydia

A new campaign is being launched in East Sussex highlighting how easy it is for young men to test for the UK’s most common sexually transmitted infection. 

Summer Reading Challenge

Children in East Sussex are being enlisted to help a team of ‘animal agents’ as this year’s Summer Reading Challenge gets underway. Youngsters are being tasked with joining creatures furry, scaly and slippery, who are out to crack a case at the local library with the help of their friends.

The Phoenix Opus

The Opus Theatre, considered one of the finest concert halls in the South East, is situated in a Grade II listed building created for the best natural acoustics. The theatre’s centerpiece, however, is the venue’s new and very special concert grand piano, one of the most technologically advanced acoustic instruments in the world, officially baptized as the ‘Phoenix Opus’.
