This Saturday afternoon, 31 May, Steve Danks is talking at The Roomz, St Leonards, about cannabis and its miraculous medicinal powers. Steve has always been a fan of the drug, but he is an all-out champion for medical use of cannabis. HOT’s Erica Smith asked him about his relationship with the mighty weed.
HOT writer Chris Connelley stood unsuccessfully for a council seat in last week’s local elections. Here he reflects on the experience.
Through a creaky garden gate, past a bed of herbs and vegetables; studios line one side of the garden, silent and inactive on this dreary grey Bank Holiday Monday. Long-time yoga enthusiast Siobhan O’Hanlon has finally found the approach that suits her. Hidden away on the West Hill in the heart of Hastings is Chris Elam’s energy cottage Shakti Kutir, a place to relax, retreat, refresh, reflect and replenish.
This week’s Get a Life takes a peep into a family themed project for young people, hosted by BBC 1Xtra’s hip-hop DJ and producer, Skitz. As part of Small Green Shoots projects, Hastings becomes the host town for one of eight family themed events taking place, supporting young people with family life. Jessica Parker speaks to DJ Skitz and PR to Small Green Shoots Adam Webb in preparation for the event.

With 16 seats up for grabs, Labour gained one from the Tories, ending up with 11 against the Tories’ five. Nick Terdre reports.
