Photology – a monthly event presenting discussions around photography from some of the most significant artists, curators and writers working today- has been an integral part of the PhotoHastings calendar since the events begun in 2012.
Last Saturday saw a grand turn out by the local community to defend the CROWN Post Office in St Leonards. HOT’s Erica Smith joined the throngs to find out why people were so concerned about the intention to close the only CROWN Post Office left in the whole of Hastings.
It was Hastings’ fifth Herring Fair on the Stade at the weekend. HOT photographer Russell Jacobs was there to sample the sights, smells, cookery demos and musical delights.
Drew Copus is a Hastings lad and one of our better known graffiti artists. Amongst other things, he was commissioned to paint the octopus on the roof of the chip shed on St Leonards’ seafront. He’s good, and he often gets commissions, but sadly, not often enough to keep the wolf from the door. Erica Smith finds out more about Drew’s latest venture.

Members of the Pub History Society, they have been diligently researching pubs around Hastings and further afield since 2007. Here are the results of their original research.
