The Big Bike Party
The Labyrinth Community Bike Workshop are excited to be holding the ‘Bottle Alley Bike Bomb’, following The Big Bike Party day event held outside The Lab on Saturday 6 September as part of Coastal Currents and they’re looking for biking enthusiasts to take part, spectators to watch and encourage – and volunteers to help them out with the organisation.
There will be head to head races along Bottle Alley – any ability / any bike – with projected visuals and sound along the way. There will be prizes!
The Labyrinth is seeking people who are willing to stand around looking cool in hi-viz jackets to keep an eye on the step entrances into the lower promenade and on the beach side between the Bottle Alley pillars to ensure nobody gets in the way of the racers. They are expecting crowds of spectators, so the more volunteers, the better! The races will take place from 7pm – 10pm.
The Big Bike Party will include free bike services for under 16s, free safety checks and advice, bike arts and crafts workshops, local cycling information and displays, bike art exhibition, bike powered smoothies and bike fashion – plus lots more.
