Dressing Up and Going Out with Geoff Deane of the Leyton Buzzards

Geoff Deane was the lead singer with Modern Romance and the Leyton Buzzards. He’s a poet and a preacher and a very snazzy dresser. His new book ‘From Mohair Suit to Kinky Boots’ is a music biz memoir looking back on the time of our lives. Before he brings his new tome to Hastings for a personal audience at the Cactus Hound on Thursday 16 November, he answers a few questions by Jude Montague.

Hastings students honour cinema giants Powell and Pressburger

Launching on Saturday 4 November is the new Powell and Pressburger film season at Hastings Old Town independent cinema, The Electric Palace. The season has been part-curated by local students, and will feature talks, artworks, workshops, podcasts and more, created by young people in Hastings and Bexhill, writes Annie Waite.

Carers charity celebrates Wellbeing at Work bronze award

Care for the Carers is delighted to announce that they have received the bronze award from East Sussex County Council’s Wellbeing at Work scheme. The award is given to local organisations who have built successful foundations of a healthy workplace. The charity was assessed across 10 criteria including mental health, healthy eating, leadership, management and workplace culture.
