Hothouse hosts some prickly customers

Foreshore Trust again silent on development as decision pends
The Hastings foreshore is again under threat, with a live planning application affecting the Old Town Conservation Area: case HS/FA/21/00946, recommended for approval by Council officers. With constitutional fancy footwork, the independent Foreshore Trust (FT), a registered charity, is also the Charity Committee of Hastings Borough Council (HBC). The HBC Planning Committee is to decide this case affecting the foreshore on Wednesday 21 June. Bernard McGinley reports and took the photos.
Louise Whitham – looking back, moving on
St Andrews Mews, Waldegrave Street is opening its Main Gallery (the space where the WHO exhibition was) completely free of charge to artists who will bring some footfall to the new businesses. Currently, Louise Whitham, photographer, painter and performance artist has taken over the rooms to display a retrospective looking back on her recent years living in St Leonards-on-Sea. Jude Montague explores her multi-space art exhibition and installation.

Jellyfish all at sea
Not wanting to alarm anyone – this is just to give you some information and you can ignore it or not, at least you know. Over the past week there have been jellyfish sightings in our seas and they have been found washed up on the shore. HOT’s Lauris Morgan-Griffiths asked Sarah Ward, Living Seas Officer at Sussex Wildlife Trust what she’d heard about where they had been seen – or felt.
