Replacing the elephants, one by one
Here’s a creative call-out to the people of Hastings, St Leonards and beyond! Thom Kofoed and I have recently launched our latest project, Elephant for Elephant and we need your help to make our vision a reality, writes HOT’s Zelly Restorick.
Our goal is to raise awareness of the current situation and to develop better elephant – human relations.
Please spread the word to anyone you think might like to join in. We’re producing education packs for schools and info packs for other groups and organisations, cafes and galleries. If you’d like more information, please get in touch.
Every piece of elephant creativity you send to us demonstrates your heartfelt wish for the elephants’ survival and your intention to create a more harmonious relationship between the human and the elephant communities.
Your piece of creative expression is:
unique – a one-off, never before seen in the history of mankind! Imagine that!
an expression of your thoughtfulness, kindness and desire to take action!
a valued and valuable contribution!
received with sincere gratitude and appreciation.
We simply cannot replace 36,000 elephants on our own! Your help is needed!
THANK YOU!
With love from Thom and Zelly – and all the Elephants, now and in the future.

I’m glad you’ve asked this, Linda. At this time, no money has been raised; Thom and I are working voluntarily and we’ve covered the cost of any expenses. In the future, when we have the artwork auction, we will have identified a number of elephant organisations to share all of the funds raised. At the moment, we are ear-marking certain charities, sanctuaries and elephant conservation organisations – and we will be asking them what they would do with any funds we donate to them, to ensure that the money is put to good use for the elephants – and to improve elephant-human relationships.
I appreciate your interest – and please let me know if you have any other questions. We’ve been lucky enough to receive some beautiful artwork – from local people and also from as far away as Jakarta and Australia. So far, we have ‘replaced’ 69 elephants! Appreciation to everyone who has contributed so far and for spreading the ‘Elephant for Elephant’ word. Please keep your elephant creations coming! Zelly

Will all or a portion of the future revenue go towards elephant causes.
