Calling All Teachers: Free CPD Session on Improving Outcomes for Children from Refugee Backgrounds
For the past year The Refugee Buddy Project has been researching and writing a report on the experiences of local refugee families in education. This report will be launched at a free CPD (Continuing Professional Development) event for teachers and educationalists on 18th November 2021 4.30pm at the Hastings Museum and Art Gallery. There will be refreshments as well as free resources for attendees.
The event will introduce the findings of the report and focus on practical actions which can be developed locally in order to improve the educational outcomes for children from refugee backgrounds.
Alex Kempton, Operations and Campaigns Manager at The Refugee Buddy Project and author of the report says “This is a great opportunity for teachers to come together and discuss what they need to improve the experiences of children from refugee backgrounds – whether that be additional English as an Additional Language (EAL) support or increased understanding of the issues around migration and seeking refuge – with a view to developing bespoke CPD packages which reflect these needs.”
If you are a teacher or educationalist and would like to attend, please book on The Refugee Buddy Project website www.therefugeebuddyproject.org/register-for-cpd-event
