LGBT Hastings
Every now and again, the Hastings Queer Community get together to create a memorable Big Night Out – amongst others, we’ve had Queer on the Pier, Juicy, Another Planet and now a new night at the Tubman. Plus, in the background, Hastings and Rother Rainbow Alliance continue to organise social events and meet to discuss all aspects of being Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender. Erica Smith explores the scene…
TubRa!
This Wednesday, 30 November, The Tubman is going rainbow for its first gay lesbian bi trans and straight (let’s not exclude the straights, bless ’em) night. It will be a taster night. If there is enough support from the LGBT (and S) community it will become a monthly event, with much, much more offered.
The organisers, Samantha Morton, who works at the Tubman and Amie Tarant say: “All we need to do is convince Paul from the Tubman that this is what the town is missing and we can make the night grow and grow. So far, we have drag acts; live bands and djs ready to make it a night to remember. We are open to your ideas and input, as this is an event for everyone to enjoy in a safe environment. So come down, show your face and make up the numbers!”
In order to tempt you there, they are also offering free pool and special deals on drinks. All this for £1.50.
