Artisan and Craft Beer Festival at St Marys
St Mary in the Castle are hosting their first ever Artisan and Craft Beer Festival, alongside a Christmas market in the Crypt on 22 December. There will be live music from Suspect (Hastings Beer Festival headliners) and projections of winter sports, as well as a selection of some of the best craft beer in East Sussex.
Bedlam Brewery, Curious Brew and Long Man Brewery are sponsoring the event and you will be able to taste some of the best beers they have on offer. There will also be beer available from other local breweries like The Brewing Brothers, who run the Imperial pub on Queens Road and Three Legs Brewery who are based in Broad Oak.
As well as being able to sample fantastic Craft Beer, you’ll have the chance to buy last minute Christmas gifts in the Christmas market in the Crypt. There will be Candles from Lagom, cards, bags, badges, prints, earrings and cards from Thom Kofoed, organic beauty products from Rockrose Beauty and local beer gift packs from Long Man Brewery, plus many more to be announced in the next couple of weeks. All the producers are Hastings or East Sussex based artisan makers.
Thom Kofoed said: “I’m so excited about being involved in this brilliant event. A lot of Christmas markets tend to have the same faces and the same format but this feels genuinely different with some amazing local products. The fact its combined with an artisan and craft beer festival and live music and food makes it even more exciting. I can’t wait!”
The band Suspect have become a main staple of the Hastings live music scene, headlining events at the De La Warr Pavilion and the Hastings Beer Festival. The four piece rock band formed in 2005 are known for their electrifying live gigs, with the audience an integral part of their performances, playing rock music from the 60’s right through to contemporary, they will be performing from 4pm.
