Mama Putts serves a musical Rum Punch
Rum Punch are half of the Lynda Murray Quartet who played a wonderful concert on the Stade last month. They serve up a high hitting cocktail of saxophone and piano. This Saturday they will be playing a mix of modern jazz standards and orginals at Mama Putts.
Lucas Howard saw the Lynda Murray Quartet on The Stade last month and was moved to write: “The theatre of the keys, with melting sax draped over beats tighter then Lynda’s curls. Their music is captivating and the serenading sound of Lynda’s sax a tasty ingredient to go with Terry Seabrook’s talented piano playing, a bandleader in his own right, Cubana Bop specialising in Cuban music and Milestones a reworking of the Miles Davis album All Blues.
Until today I had never heard the name Lynda Murray but listening to the beautifully created pieces echoing the call and crash of the ocean with such delicacy and untethered passion, I know that hers is a name I will not readily forget”
Rum Punch are playing a special evening at Mama Putts this Saturday, 26 August.
