New Annual Awards event at Conquest Hospital Radio
CONGRATULATIONS to everyone involved. Apologies on behalf of HOT for posting this later than intended – but really want to honour the people who’ve volunteered their time and energy providing a very necessary service for people in hospital who want a personal and local connection – to stay in touch with the outside world.
A new annual event has unfolded at the Conquest Hospital. The event, the first of its kind last December, is the LIVE FOLK AWARDS stemming from the Live Folk Show on Conquest Hospital Radio (CHR). The event was a great success with 34 certificates awarded and 8 medallion award categories.
The Live Folk Show is broadcast on CHR between 7 & 8pm on Monday evenings with the purpose of making patients in the hospital feel less distanced by having local musicians broadcast to their ears. The show also gives local musicians a platform to be heard across the world, since CHR went digital two years ago.
Everyone who had performed on the show received a performance/broadcast certificate and a CD of their interview and performance. Some were awarded a special medallion. Mayor Nigel Sinden was there to present the awards.
The given awards were:
