Hastings Premieres at Stade Hall

Canopy by Tom Banks
Next Friday, 27 February, Stade Hall is the venue for an exciting night of entertainment to appeal to all of the senses. The evening will consist of short film screenings, music from Vallelectro and their ukuleles, tasty snacks from Sweet Umami and new work by artists, Tom Banks and Toby Stevens. This free event is a collaboration to celebrate and promote the work of some of Hastings’ most remarkable artistic community.

From Boys Ashore by Lisa Clifford
The screenings include Boys Ashore by Lisa Clifford – a short documentary about the fight for survival of Hastings’ fishing fleet, and Check by Dave Thomas – a beautifully shot film about life and chess. Both these films will be receiving their World Premieres.
Director Cheryl White’s film, Before Babel, will also be show-cased. This award-winning 5-minute film blends animation and live action with Dutch artist Henrik Mesdag’s spectacular panoramic painting of the dutch coastal path known as The North Sea Route. Cheryl is using the Hastings Premiere event to launch a Kickstarter campaign in order to fund a longer version of this captivating film.
The evening runs from 6–8pm and is free. More information can be found on the Before Babel website.
