West St Leonards Forum AGM: Wednesday 17 May
Following its recent successful ‘Go West’ exhibition, the West St Leonards Forum (WSLF) is having its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 17 May, at 6.30pm at the West St Leonards Community Centre (next to the medical centre on Bexhill Road). Bernard McGinley reports.
Now that Hastings Borough Council has approved the Forum as the organising body for the Neighbourhood Plan, and also recognised the proposed Neighbourhood Area, there is much to get on with to develop and improve the area for the benefit of its residents, businesses and people who work in the area.
The recent ‘Go West’ exhibition was an important consultation event for the group.
What’s on the agenda?
The planned agenda wears its pulsating humanity lightly disguised:
- Welcome and reports from the Chair and Treasurer
- Amendment to constitution to add Collinswood Drive to the area
- Community update: The ‘Go West’ exhibition
- Election of new main committee members, including Local Area Representatives
- Breakout groups to determine main concerns for area
- Summary of breakout work and closing address
To the uninitiated, an AGM may seem a forbidding event to attend. The reality is that most AGMs are short and sweet, and allow time afterwards for discussion and to meet other local residents who care about where they live. Anyone with an interest in the future and wellbeing of the West St Leonards area is welcome to attend.
