Robin Bell, master printer, life in the dark

Robin Bell has lived most of his career, if not in the pitch dark at least in an eerie half light. Although not eerie or weird to him; it is part and parcel of his career – and a very successful career he has carved out of that darkness. He is a master printer of black and white analogue images for most of the top twentieth century photographers. Lauris Morgan-Griffiths spoke to him about his forthcoming exhibition at Lucy Bell’s Gallery to celebrate fifty years in the dark room.

Play comedy Guess Who? game with real-life characters

“It’s an extremely stupid, extremely simple idea, but it’s a lot of fun,” says comedian James Ross (and many others) about his latest comedy show Guess Who?, which brings the children’s board game idea to life in a comedy setting, with the audience making up the characters.

10 years of progress at Alexandra Park Greenhouse

Volunteers celebrated 10 years of progress at a Hastings community hub with a surprise presentation to its chairman. Linda Pearson, who has been the main driving force behind the restoration of Alexandra Park Greenhouse, received an album of photos charting the hard work by volunteers and the results of generous public donations over the last decade.
