Gaza ceasefire motion blocked again

The most recent (20 March) Hastings Borough Council (HBC) broke up in confusion and anger after the Labour Mayor refused to let the full council meeting, following a question from the public about a blocked ceasefire motion. Katy Colley from Hastings Palestine Solidarity Campaign gives her account of what happened.

Bloodtub Chairman revives Music Hall in The Pig front parlour in Hastings

In an experimental session, Tim Whelan comes to The Pig in order to demonstrate some of his bloodtub thumping interpretations of Music Hall on a late Sunday afternoon. Jude Montague shares some thoughts on Music Hall in advance of his visit and encourages HOT readers to share their knowledge of Music Hall with her.

A lift for the Clifton Centre

The Clifton Centre in Central St Leonards has been awarded a grant of £55,000 by Biffa Award for the installation of a new lift and other improvements. Work is due to start this Spring and be completed by Autumn. The grant was awarded following a successful campaign that showed strong local support for the community centre, involving both a crowdfunder and grants from local benefactors Isabel Blackman Foundation and Hastings Roundtable.
