Darius Brubeck Quartet wows the Jazz Hastings audience

Jazz Hastings was proud to welcome the son of a famous father, Darius Brubeck, son of Dave, and his quartet to its December gig last week. And Victoria Kingham was there to enjoy a memorable evening, complete with unusual time signatures – like father, like son.

Labour Cabinet defections rock HBC – more likely to follow

The decision of six  Cabinet members to resign from the Labour Party has rocked the council only days before Christmas. More may follow, indeed one already has. External audit highlights shortcomings in council’s financial management

A critical report of Hastings Borough Council’s management of its finances has been delivered by its external auditor, Grant Thornton, with particular emphasis on the Hastings Housing Company and the council’s decision to build a hotel to be run by Premier Inn. These issues are also highlighted in a press release by Conservative councillor Andy Patmore. Nick Terdre reports.

Barnaby’s big band fundraiser for His Place

Every town should have its big band and Hastings has one courtesy of Barnaby of Barnaby’s Lounge. They will be performing in the afternoon next Saturday, 16th, at His Place in a fundraiser for the church’s roof repairs. Nick Terdre reports.
