Not the Final Major Project at HAF

When you hear the words ‘graduate show’, the heart tends to sink. So it was with some trepidation that HOT’s Lauris Morgan-Griffiths went along to Hastings Arts Forum to see Not the Final Major Project, a graduate collaboration photography show between PhotoHastings and Brighton Fringe. But she couldn’t have been more wrong; her fears were totally unfounded. Maya Evans: Epic trek for peace

Hollington Councillor Maya Evans gave a first-hand account of taking part in an epic trek for peace at a meeting on 2 October organised by Hastings Against War. She joined a march that had begun on the Japanese island of Okinawa and would end in Hiroshima Peace Park on the 73rd anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima by the US air force, an attack that would leave tens of thousands dead and devastate the city. Identity: a twin town collaboration

You are invited to the launch of ‘Identity’, a collaboration between artists from Hastings and Dordrecht, twin towns since 1982. The collaboration is in response to the City of Dordrecht’s six-month event to mark the 400th anniversary of the Synod of Dort, an international religious assembly held in Dordrecht, which led to the first translation of the Bible into Dutch. Christine Gist writes.

Art of movement

For all who want to move, dance and feel good. Dancer and choreographer Viv Hamblin and Feldenkrais practitioner Catherine Pinhorn are offering a series of workshops for all those who wish to explore the joy of creative self-expression through movement. HOT’s Zelly Restorick writes.
