Shaping Hastings
Just in case you’re interested, the Hastings Planning Strategy was submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination on 31 October 2012 and the Examination in Public has now commenced, writes HOT’s Zelly Restorick. An independent inspector, Richard E Hollox, has been appointed to conduct the Examination in Public.
Hearing sessions are scheduled to start on 5 February in the Council Chambers at the Town Hall through to 14 February. The Hearings are open to the public to attend, although only those appointed by the inspector will be allowed to speak at them.
All of the documentation can be found on the Hastings Council website here.
A final formal consultation is being held regarding the Development Management Plan, including surgery sessions from 6 March to 3 April at various locations to consider the following questions :
- Has the Development Management Plan been prepared in accordance with legal requirements?
- Is the Development Management Plan legally sound?
- All responses must be received by 4.30pm on 15 April 2013.
Council guidance notes to explain these questions further can be found here.
