Dog dawdling at Pestalozzi

Calling all dog-owners – this Saturday 28 May it’s your chance to take Fido for a dawdle round the grounds of Pestalozzi, as the Sedlescombe-based charity explains.

Pestalozzi is opening up our grounds to dogs and their owners on Saturday 28 May for their first ever dog dawdle! The walk will set off at 11.30am, gathering at 11am. The charity hopes that the event will bring together local dog walkers and nature lovers and will also give local residents an exclusive opportunity to see the beautiful estate of Pestalozzi Village. Not only will attendees be able to enjoy a beautiful guided walk, but they will also have the opportunity to win a range of exciting raffle prizes from a range of dog-friendly businesses.

Sedlescombe resident and dog-owner Juanita Gouws commented that, “Living in Sedlescombe, I am very lucky to be able to walk daily in the beautiful grounds of Pestalozzi with its stunning views whatever the season. We are excited and look forward to welcoming lots of dogs and their owners at the very first ‘Dog Dawdle’ in the grounds on Saturday May 28.”

Pestalozzi have owned the 165-acre Sedlescombe estate for 59 years and have always welcomed dog walkers to use the public footpaths that run through it. Whilst the Dog Dawdle will cover much of the public footpaths, it will also cover private areas of the estate that dog walkers are usually unable to access.

The walk will last approximately one hour and will cover a circular route of the estate. Throughout the walk there will be marked stop-off points and facts to make it informative and fun!

After the dawdle, walkers will be able to relax and enjoy some refreshments with their newly acquainted friends, both humans and dogs alike. We haven’t forgotten the dogs! Each dog will get a free treat bag which has been donated by healthy pet food supplier Husse. There will also be a raffle which contains lots of dog-friendly prizes which have kindly been donated by local companies, including Husse Pet Food, The Chequers Inn, Pawfect Pooch, The Dogs Cake Bakery, Abbey Pet Supplies, Mount Road Pet and Aquatic Store.
