Love Hastings Love Yourself is all over town
Love Hastings Love Yourself has done itself proud for World Mental Health Day on Tuesday 10 October. Erica Smith catches up with Su Barnicoat from Hastings Voluntary Action to find out about all the events on offer.
An interactive graffiti wall is open to anyone of any age and any ability with ‘How to spray’ training given by professional artist, Sarah Gillings. Art will remain in place after the event and individuals can take away two pieces of art too! There are two sessions: one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
The Mindfulness walk in the afternoon will be gentle and end up at the ‘Grande Rue de Pera Café’ in Queens Road for Tea and Talk. Free cake will be provided! You can just do the walk – or just do the cake!
Su says “People can just turn up but it would be great if we know numbers so if possible, please book in advance for the Graffiti Wall and Mindfulness walk. If you have any queries, please contact jacy.kilvert@mindcharty.co.uk. Mobile: 07852 683 530 or myself, su@hvauk.org or via my mobile: 07702 902840.”
At the music event at the Palace in the evening there is also an Ultra Violet art experience for all abilities 7–9pm. Come and create a wall of hearts. No need to be arty just have fun!
Make sure you get along early to add your mark to the Ultra Violet art wall, and pick up your copy of the Love Hastings Love Yourself double CD which includes 20 tracks by local musicians, choirs and poets.
