Energising body and mind
In Hastings and St Leonards-on-Sea, we’re lucky enough to have a branch of the national Shiatsu College right on our doorstep. And starting in the autumn, the team are offering sessions called Grassroots Shiatsu. HOT’s Zelly Restorick reports.
The sessions will include the practices of yoga, gigong (Chi Kung), energy work, meditation and body work, each designed to increase health and a sense of wellbeing. “These Saturday mornings will open your body, awaken your energy and calm your mind”, writes Annie Cryar, principal of the Hastings branch of Shiatsu College.

Grassroots Shiatsu
At a time when our NHS is overwhelmed with need, it seems a wise idea to learn some things that will contribute positively to maintaining and increasing our health, both physical and mental.
These practices – open to everyone of any age and ability – can help you to activate your integral healing systems, tune into your unique body-mind and help yourself to improved health.
The 3 October session is free of charge. The following sessions are at the start of every month and will teach you techniques and practices, which, once learned, will be invaluable, beneficial assets to include in your self-help health toolkit.
GRASSROOTS SHIATSU: 3 October, 10am-12pm.
The Shiatsu Studio, 3 Grand Parade, St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex TN38 0DD.
October 3rd is FREE! (Usual price £15)
