Feeling stressed? Come and talk to Davina!
Reality show host Davina McCall is to front a new studio show tackling modern-day dilemmas we all face – and Hastings is considered fertile ground for finding participants. Nick Terdre reports.
The show is due to go on air in September on Channel W, part of satellite channel UK-TV.
Each week it will focus on a particular theme, such as parenting, body image, technology, stress or relationships.
The producers’ sight has alighted on Hastings thanks to a study on credit comparison site TotallyMoney.com which found that our town is one of the most stressed in the UK, so they are “keen to speak to locals who are facing stress in their lives, uncovering what stress means to them.”
TotallyMoney.com cites research showing that Hastings is the worst place to make a living, which perhaps explains why people here might be stressed.
“We’re hoping to speak to individuals who could benefit from chatting with Davina, whose own personal life experience and success is an inspiration for many, as well as the experts lined up to offer fresh perspectives and guidance,” says researcher Hanifah Rahman.
Davina will guide the conversation, tease out each contributor’s story and introduce them to both a tailored group of experts – often armed with counter-intuitive perspectives and research – and real people, using their original and emotional points of view to challenge ways of thinking.
“Over the hour, each show should ignite powerful and intelligent conversations, and leave the contributor with a 360 degree view of their situation, empowered to tackle their problem head-on.”
So if you want to discuss your stressful life, or any other aspect of it, with Davina, contact the production company, Twenty Twenty Productions, on davinacasting@twentytwenty.tv or call 0203 301 8663.
