People’s Pier seeks inspirational leader
Earlier this year, the Hastings Pier and White Rock Trust secured a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £357,000 to set up a feasibility study for the future of Hastings Pier. If this process is successful, it will lead to over £8 million of further funding. The trust has been working closely with HLF and is now in a position to advertise for a chief executive officer.
The CEO will be responsible for leading, inspiring and delivering the People’s Pier. The post is full-time and offers a salary of £45,000 pa. The successful candidate will be expected to work hard for their money and will need to be a natural leader with a track record in urban renewal, large scale infrastructure and construction, or the leisure industry.
They will need to be as comfortable in a board room as when engaging in a community setting, and have a keen grasp of the commercial realities facing high-profile projects and an innate ability to identify talent, energise teams and create an environment where creative individuals come together under a common cause.
The preferred start-date for the new position is 1 November.
